Anxiety + Overthinking

When your mind won’t slow down, even when you want it to

  • From the outside, you might seem calm, capable, and put together.

  • But internally, it feels much different.

  • Your thoughts keep going—replaying conversations, anticipating what could go wrong, trying to stay one step ahead.

  • You analyze, prepare, and think things through… but it never quite turns off.

  • Even when things are “fine,” your mind doesn’t fully relax.

You might recognize yourself here

  • Your thoughts feel constant—like your brain is always “on”

  • You replay conversations and second-guess what you said

  • You think through every possible outcome before making decisions

  • It’s hard to relax, even during downtime

  • You feel responsible for getting things “right”

  • You struggle to be present because your mind is somewhere else

Over time, all of this can feel tiring, overwhelming, and never-ending. It’s not just stress—it’s a mental load that wears you down.

This isn’t just overthinking—it’s your system trying to stay ahead

What often gets labeled as “overthinking” is actually your mind working hard to create a sense of control, certainty, and safety.

When anxiety is present, your brain scans for potential problems, replays situations, and tries to predict outcomes—hoping to prevent discomfort or mistakes.

It makes sense.
And it can also keep you stuck in a loop that’s hard to step out of.

You might notice:

  • difficulty turning your mind off at night

  • tension in your body even when you’re resting

  • a constant sense of “what am I missing?”

This is a very common experience for thoughtful, high-functioning people.

How we approach anxiety therapy

At Embolden You, anxiety therapy isn’t about stopping your thoughts or “thinking positive.”

It’s about changing your relationship to your thoughts so they don’t run the show.

Together, we might:

  • understand the patterns driving your anxiety and overthinking

  • learn how to step out of mental loops and rumination

  • build tools to calm your nervous system in real time

  • reduce the pressure to get everything exactly right

  • help you feel more present, grounded, and clear

Our work is both practical and reflective—so you’re not just talking, you’re actually experiencing change.

You don’t have to keep managing this on your own

A lot of people who struggle with anxiety are also the ones who are the most capable.

They figure things out. They push through. They keep going.

But just because you can manage it doesn’t mean you have to keep living this way.

Not sure if this fully fits?

  • You don’t have to have constant anxiety—or use that word at all—to benefit from therapy.

  • If your mind feels busy, loud, or hard to turn off, that’s enough.

  • We’ll help you sort through what’s going on and what kind of support would feel most helpful.

Take the next step

If your thoughts have been feeling harder to manage, you don’t have to keep navigating that alone.

We’ll help match you with a therapist who understands anxiety and overthinking—and who feels like the right fit for you.
